Let HM Spa & Salon come to your rescue.!
Tending to children, interacting with a husband, boss, friends, driving, shopping, cooking, cleaning, caring for aging parents, budgeting, working and worrying! Sound like you?
The average 35-55 year old female juggles a phenomenal amount of stress daily. The mass majority of women today are over stressed, over scheduled, over tired and over extending in general. Regular Spa visits may be a way to alleviate some of that stress.
The American Psychological Association who survey people from all walks of life and ages say that over half of the women they’ve talked to say their stress levels have increased over the last 5 years. The declining economy and money issues rating as the number one culprit, closely followed by worrying about a spouse or a child, followed then by the stress of raising children.
FACT….married women experience more stress than single women!
When you experience stress, your body releases cortisol (and other hormones, such as adrenaline) into your bloodstream. These hormones make your heart beat faster and prepare your body to respond to danger. Occasionally, a little stress is good: it makes us achieve what we want, meet deadlines, and work the occasional miracle. A life with no stress at all would be a little insipid. But prolonged stress, endured everyday, is damaging to our health. Stress raises your blood pressure. We know that living like this is not healthy, it takes its toll. Superwoman will eventually fall – headache, stomach problems, poor eating habits, obesity, fatigue, feelings of irritability, anger, anxiety, insomnia and depression.
At times like that, a little spa de-stress never goes amiss.
Stress hormones give our bodies an effective "fight or flight" response. This is great when you're on the run from a sabre-toothed tiger, not so helpful when your boss is shouting, you're overdrawn at the bank or the child-minder just called in sick.
So what are the best treatments or therapies to help reduce stress?
Many studies confirm that the human touch releases the hormone oxytocin, which helps to counteract the stress hormones. Oxytocin is a hormone which increases feelings of trust and enables bonding.
Most spa treatments involve being touched, a key element in helping us relax and feel better. Physical contact is necessary to our well-being, and even if the touching is from a stranger, if that stranger is a professional there to pamper you, that touch will have a beneficial effect. Some studies show that these benefits can translate into better health. In one study of more than 3,300 Japanese government workers, frequency of spa use was linked to better physical and mental health including better quality sleep and fewer sick days. In a similar study on German data conducted by researchers from Florida State University and George Mason University, spa therapy reduced both absenteeism from work and hospitalizations. It does not matter whether you are going in to get a facial, a manicure, a pedicure, or even a massage. The most important thing is that you leave your worries at the door and spend some time on yourself. You are only given one body with one set of skin. It is not like your favorite outfit that you can take to the dry cleaners to freshen it up. It is something that you are going to have to look at every day for the rest of your life. Do your part to make sure that you always look amazing. By taking good care of your skin with regular appointments for spa and salon treatments, you will be happier and healthier than you could ever imagine. Now is the time to start deciding which treatment you would like to have so that you canschedule your visit.
